Morrison enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Canisius volleyball program. Morrison played for four years with the Golden Griffins under coach Cathy Hummel.

The Cuba, N.Y. native appeared in 63 career matches, including a career-high 28 matches during her senior season in 2011. Morrison set career highs in sets played (95), digs (148) and service reception percentage (.946). She totaled double-digit digs six times, including 15 or more digs in three matches. Morrison posted a service reception percentage of 95.5 percent during the final 25 matches of the season.

Morrison graduated from Canisius in 2012 with a degree in childhood education. The former Joanna Burt was married in the summer of 2014 to former Canisius hockey player Dan Morrison.
