McGarr enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Canisius volleyball program.

The Oakdale, N.Y. native recently graduated from Dowling College with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. McGarr served as a student assistant last season with the women’s volleyball program. As a student assistant, McGarr oversaw the video operations, recorded statistics and helped with practice.

In 2011, McGarr served as the head coach of the U14 team for the Long Island Volleyball Club. He was in charge of all aspects of the program. McGarr also worked for four years with the Long Island Ducks, serving as the manager of concessions during his final year with the minor-league baseball franchise.
