Chris Krueger is entering his second season as an assistant coach with the Golden Griffins volleyball program. Before joining the Canisius coaching staff in the summer of 2017, Krueger had been a part of the Western New York volleyball scene for many years as both a player and a coach.

The Hamburg native was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the men's volleyball program at D'Youville. He played primarily as an outside hitter for the Spartans, spending the 2012 season as a middle blocker. He finished his career among the program leaders in kills, points, service aces and sets played, and earned AMCC All-Conference awards twice during his career.

After graduating from D'Youville, Krueger served as the head coach for Hilbert's men's volleyball team from 2014-17 and the women's squad from 2015-17. In his stint with the men's team at Hilbert, the team posted a new single-season wins record in 2016, as well as setting a new record for conference wins, with eight victories.

Under Krueger's tutelage, Korey Schwab was named the AVCA DIII National Player of the Week for the first time in program history, while his teams recorded nine all-conference team selections and 17 NEAC scholar-athlete award winners.

Academically Krueger's squad received the AVCA academic team award in 2015 and 2016 for receiving a GPA of 3.3-or-greater.
