Adam Heftka enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Golden Griffin volleyball program.
Prior to joining the Blue and Gold, Heftka played collegiately at Hilbert College for four seasons as a setter. Three of those seasons saw Heftka play under current Canisius assistant coach Chris Krueger. Serving as team captain his junior and senior years, he finished his career as the Hawks’ all-time leader in assists, also finishing top five in aces, block assists and solo blocks. Additionally, Heftka was selected to the AMCC Academic All-Conference Team four times and received the Peak Performer Award in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Outside of his accomplishments on the volleyball court, Heftka served as the Vice-President and President of Hilbert’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
After his playing career, Heftka coached the junior varsity volleyball team at Nardin Academy in Buffalo during the 2017 season.
The Grand Island, N.Y, native is currently pursuing his master’s degree in physical education at Canisius.
