Biography

Notes: One of the team's most athletic players. Can shoot the mid-range jump shot or take the ball to the basket. Has been selected as a captain for this year's team by her teammates.

Junior Season: Had a career year in 2002-03, averaging 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Started in all 30 games. Scored a career-high 19 points in Canisius' win over St. Francis (Pa.) Jan. 2, then tied that record with 19 points against Loyola at home March 1. Was credited with a career-high 13 rebounds in two different games (at UMBC Nov. 30, and home vs. Manhattan Dec. 8). Posted five double-doubles, which included four in-a-row in games from Feb. 27 (vs. Rider) to March 7 (vs. Saint Peter's)? Shot 50 percent or better from the field 14 different times. Finished seven of the team's last eight games scoring in double figures. Enters this season needing 389 points to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Won a second consecutive gold medal in the Empire State Games during the summer of 2003.

Sophomore Season: Played in all 28 Canisius games, averaging 15.1 minutes per contest. Scored a then career-high 15 points in the Griffs' 100-89 win over Bucknell Dec. 11. Pulled down 11 rebounds in the team's 82-75 loss to Saint Peter's. Had her first career double-double in the season finale against Rider with 13 points and 10 boards. Finished the season averaging 5.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Was selected as the team's Most Improved Player by her teammates along with Jenel Stevens. Won a gold medal in the Empire State Games along with Jenel Stevens during the summer of 2002.

Freshman Season: Saw action in 26 of 28 games. Averaged 3.6 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game. Posted a then career-high 11 points in loss to Siena on Dec. 8. Pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds in win over Rider on Feb. 25.

Before Canisius: Was second team All-Western New York and first team all-conference as a senior at Buffalo's Traditional High School. Also participated in track and field in high school.

Personal: The daughter of Hilda Brown-Garrett and John Brown, Lonnie is a communications major at Canisius. Is the youngest of eight kids. She is the only player on the team to graduate from a Buffalo area high school.
