2004-2005: A key contributor off the bench, Chesko played in all 31 games. Averaged 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game as a junior. Scored a career-high 19 points in a loss at UNLV after going 6-for-13 from the field and 4-for-8 from three-point land. Pulled down a career-high eight rebounds in the team's win at Niagara Feb. 2. Dished out a career-high six assists in the Griffs win over San Diego State Jan. 4, then matched that mark in the team's MAAC Tournament win over Niagara March 5. Was credited with a career best four steals in a home loss to Loyola Dec. 3. Scored six points in the team's NCAA Tournament game against Duke March 20, in Chapel Hill, N.C. Closed out her junior season shooting a career-high 33.8 percent from the field (48-for-142). For the second-straight year, Chesko was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
2003-2004: Played in all 30 games, making two starts. Made her first career start Nov. 21, in a win at cross-town rival Buffalo. Averaged 3.1 points per game. Scored a season-high 11 points in two different games (at Siena Dec. 7, and at Loyola Jan. 16). Tied a then career-high with four rebounds in a win at Rider Jan. 18. Had a season high three steals in a loss at California Dec. 21. Played in a career-high 30 minutes in the Griffs' loss at California Dec. 21. Had two blocks as a sophomore, including one against Marist in the MAAC Championship game March 7. Led the team with her 78.1 free throw shooting percentage (25-for-32). Was one of four Canisius players to be named to the 2004 MAAC All-Academic Team.
2002-2003: Played in 27 of Canisius' 30 games, all off the bench. Averaged 2.9 points in her first season in Blue and Gold. Saw a season-high 21 minutes of action in a loss to Vermont Dec. 15. Scored 12 points in a loss at Loyola after shooting 4-for-10 from three-point land. Was 19-for-61 (31.1 percent) from behind the three-point line.
Before Canisius: Played for the Neuqua Valley High Wildcats and helped the team to a third-place finish in the state playoffs. Served as a team captain her senior season. Was named all-area, all-conference, all-state and all-academic in her senior season. Also competed in track and field, where she qualified for states in the long jump as a sophomore. Won one varsity letter in water polo and tennis.
Personal: The daughter of Jim and Diane Chesko, Karly is a clinical laboratory science major at Canisius. Has two brothers, Kurt and Kent. Spent the summer of 2005 studying aboard in Europe.
