2006: Played in all 16 games in the midfield and started 11 contests... Collected two goals and two assists... Took 21 shots with nine on net... Scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Siena Oct. 21... Also scored a goal against Loyola Oct. 6.

Before Canisius: Played two seasons at the College of the Southwest... Named first-team all-conference both seasons... Posted 30 career goals and 16 assists... Lettered four years at Jefferson/Silva... Named first-team all-district all four seasons... Tallied 30 goals and 18 assists as a senior.

Personal: The son of Mariano and Alma Sapien, Mariano is majoring in physical education... His younger brother Farid is also a member of the Canisius men's soccer team.
