Former Canisius standout Hunter Walsh joined the Canisius men’s soccer program as an assistant coach in August 2019.

Walsh made the transition to the sidelines after finishing his collegiate career with the Golden Griffins in 2018.

A two-year member of the program after transferring from cross-town rival Buffalo, Walsh appeared in 36 contests for the Blue and Gold, compiling nine goals and two assists for 20 points.

As a junior in 2017, Walsh ranked fourth on the squad in goals (6) and tied for fifth in points (12) as he helped power a Canisius attack that set a school mark for goals scored in a season with 45.

Walsh appeared in all 16 games in his senior season, finishing the campaign third on the team in scoring with three goals and two assists. He found the back of the net in matchups with Northern Kentucky, St. Bonaventure and Quinnipiac and dished out two assists in a 4-0 triumph at “Battle of the Bridge” foe Niagara.
