Biography

One of three team captains.

2001-02: Scored four goals and added six assists in 34 games played... Registered 38 penalty minutes... Tallied game-winning goal in Canisius' 6-1 win over Bentley (11/9)... Honored as the student-athlete with the highest GPA in the MAAC Hockey league with a 3.9 in accounting... Was selected as Canisius' nominee to the MAAC as Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

2000-01: Scored four goals, tying Daryl Pierce for team-high by a defenseman... Registered 55 penalty minutes.

1999-2000: One of two Griffs to play in all 35 games... Scored first career goal against Wayne State (10/16)... Scored game-winner against Fairfield (3/3).

Before Canisius: Was a three-year letter winner at St. Joe's Collegiate Institute... Was named captain and team MVP as a senior... Selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Saratoga Invitational in 1999... Scored 27 points (8G, 19A)... Named Second Team All-Western New York Varsity Hockey Federation... Also played for the Buffalo Saints Selects Midget Majors (NYS Tier 1), scoring 30 points (6G, 24A).

Personal: Tom, the son of the late Thomas F. Wnuk, Sr., and Linda Wnuk, is an accounting major... Has a younger sister, Lisa... A two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection... Named to the Dean's List all six semesters at Canisius... Member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Nu and Chi Alpha Sigma honor societies... Selected to the Department of Accounting Chairman's Honor Roll... Named an All-American Collegiate Scholar.
