Biography

2004-05: Posted career-highs in points (12) and assists (9)... Led all defensemen in scoring with 12 points... Recorded a career-high three-point game with a goal and two assists in 5-4 win over Robert Morris (10/23)... Posted 44 shots on goal... Ranked 13th in Atlantic Hockey in defenseman scoring.

2003-04: Scored four goals, including the game-tying goal in the third period of a 3-3 draw at Niagara (1/24)... Added four assists and 20 penalty minutes.

2002-03: Tallied three goals and six assists as one of only four Griffs to play all 37 games... Scored first collegiate goal against Findlay in Canisius’ 8-1 loss to the Oilers (10/19)... Recorded first multi-point game with two assists in the Griffs’ 6-3 loss to Quinnipiac (10/25)... Named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team... Scored game-winning goals in victories over Connecticut (1/18) and Bentley (1/31).

Before Canisius: Played the 2001-02 season with the Fort Erie Meteors of the GHJHL... Earned all-star honors with the Meteors, as well as team Most Valuable Player and Top Defenseman... Also played two seasons with the Lowell Jr. Lockmonsters, garnering all-star honors in 1999-00 and 2000-01... Played four seasons for St. Francis H.S.

Personal: Tim, the son of Paul and Patricia Songin, is a business management major at Canisius... Has a younger sister, Jennifer... Father Paul played defense for the University at Buffalo hockey team... Cousin Tom Songin played 43 games for the Boston Bruins, while cousin Ed "Butch" Songin played quarterback for the Boston Patriots.
