Alex Buckingham is in his second season as the equipment manager of the Canisius hockey program.
Buckingham joins the Griffs after serving as the head equipment manager for Lebanon Valley College’s men’s and women’s ice hockey teams for the past six seasons. Where he managed the Dutchmen’s equipment upkeep and repairs. He also assisted with equipment and apparel ordering and helped out with meals and trip planning.
In addition to his work with Lebanon Valley, Buckingham also worked for College Hockey Showcases during the 2019-20 season as the director of operations. While there he helped organize all of their showcase events while also managing the company’s marketing and social media efforts. He managed registrations and payments for all events while also handling customer service requests.
Buckingham also spent two seasons as an associate head coach with the Hershey Jr. Bears, breaking down game film for player and coach use while also providing on and off ice instruction to players.
Away from the rink, Buckingham is the owner of Buckingham Creative, a business that provides marketing and creative collateral for its clients. He also did digital and print design internships with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and Capital BlueCross as part of his undergraduate coursework.
A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Buckingham earned his bachelor’s degree in digital communications at Lebanon Valley in May of 2018. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport administration from Canisius.
