Biography

2003-04: Only Griff to play in all 34 games... Scored two goals, including the game-winner in a 4-2 win over Quinnipiac (1/10)... Recorded a team-high +5 rating, leading the team for the second straight season and one of only six players on the team with a positive rating.

2002-03: One of four Griffs to play in all 37 games... Tallied four goals and seven assists to lead all defensemen with 11 points... Scored first collegiate goal against Connecticut (1/17)... Recorded 40 penalty minutes and 56 shots on goal... Led team with a +5 rating.

2001-02: Registered three points, all assists, in 21 games played... Recorded first collegiate point, an assist, in a 4-3 loss to Western Michigan (11/24)... Posted 27 penalty minutes... Scored an assist in first game back on March 1 after missing entire month of February with shoulder injury.

Before Canisius: Scored seven goals and tallied 20 assists, while recording 93 penalty minutes in 52 games for the Leamington Flyers... Was a member of the Western Junior "B" All-Star team... Also played volleyball and soccer for Harrow District H.S.

Personal: The son of John and Janice Zavitz, Josh is a pre-med/psychology major at Canisius... Has eight brothers, Jesse, Joel, Jarrod, Jon-Paul, Jacob, Jordan, Jake and James.
