Biography

2002-03: Scored three goals and added six assists for nine points... Recorded a career-high three-point game with a goal and two assists against Quinnipiac (10/25)... Registered two power-play goals.

2001-02: Scored first collegiate goal, a power-play tally, in Griffs' 6-1 rout of Bentley (11/9)... Recorded seven assists, including a career-high two helpers in 6-3 loss to Findlay (1/25)... Registered 28 penalty minutes.

2000-01: Recorded first career point, an assist, in first collegiate game against Wayne State (10/20).

Before Canisius: Played in 1999-2000 for the Vaughan Vipers (Jr. A) in the OPJHL... Registered nine points (4G, 5A) in 17 games with 64 penalty minutes... Also spent two seasons with the Bramalea Blues, the 1999 OPJHL Champions and the Central Canadian Champions and Canadian National Finalists... Attended Micheal Power SS.

Personal: Joe, the son of Phil and Theresa D'Urzo is a marketing major... Has a younger brother, Nick... Joe's cousin, John Massara, was a former captain of the University of Maine Black Bears hockey team and a member of the Italian National Team.
