Biography

2004-05: Served as the team's captain... Played in his 100th career game against Army on March 5... Recorded a multi-point game with two assists in a 5-3 win over Bentley (11/5)... Scored single goal in wins over Connecticut (11/20 & 12/3) and Niagara (1/8) and in a 3-1 loss against Robert Morris (10/22)... Tallied three power-play goals and recorded 53 shots on goal.

2003-04: Served as one of the team captains... Played in four games before suffering a season-ending back injury... Recorded one assist before red-shirting.

2002-03: Tied for the team lead in points with 23... Led the Griffs with 12 goals scored, including four power-play tallies... Ranked 18th in the MAAC in goals scored... Missed first four games of the season due to a wrist injury... Recorded a season-high three point game against Bentley (11/22)... Posted six multi-point games... Registered 58 penalty minutes... Named ITECH/MAAC Player of the Week (12/9) after leading Griffs to a 4-2 victory over Mercyhurst with a goal and an assist.

2001-02: Named team's Rookie of the Year after finishing third on the team in goals scored with 13 tallies... Recorded a team-high six power-play goals, ranking eighth in the MAAC... Scored first career goal, a power-play tally, in the Griffs' 5-4 season opening loss to Alabama-Huntsville (10/19)... Registered 38 penalty minutes... Named ITECH/MAAC Rookie of the Week (11/18) after a two-goal effort against Fairfield.

Before Canisius: Scored 35 goals with 49 assists in 38 games, while recording 65 penalty minutes as a member of the Soo Thunderbirds... Named to the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey Association All-Star team... Attended St. Basil Secondary.

Personal: The son of Linda and Carmen Coccimiglio, Fred graduated in 2004 with a degree in physical education at Canisius... He is currently working towards his master’s degree in sport administration at Canisius... Has two sisters, Carrie and Elisa.
