Mike Ziemer is in his fifth year as assistant athletic trainer at Canisius College, where his primary responsibilities lie with the hockey and rowing programs.

A graduate of Canisius, Ziemer returned to Buffalo after spending two-plus years at St. Lawrence University. With the Saints, Ziemer worked directly with the women’s hockey, softball and field hockey programs.

Prior to his time with St. Lawrence, Ziemer served as a graduate assistant at Marshall University, where he worked with the football, men’s soccer, baseball and track and field teams. He also served as an intern with the Buffalo Bills in addition to working as a student trainer during his time at Canisius.

Ziemer earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Canisius in 2010 and his master’s from Marshall in 2012. He resides in Hamburg with his wife, Michelle.
