2002-03: Started 27-of-28 contests and averaged 19.4 minutes an outing... Shot 52 percent from the floor, which ranked sixth in the MAAC... Averaged 7.9 points and 4.5 rebounds an outing... Scored in double figures in 11 games and tallied two double-doubles... Led the Griffs in rebounding in four contests and tied for the team lead in scoring twice... Tallied 12 points and five rebounds in his Canisius debut against Bethune-Cookman... Posted 11 points and 12 rebounds at Bucknell... Had a career-high 15 points and five boards vs. Buffalo... Tallied 12 points and seven rebounds vs. St. Bonaventure... Tallied 13 points and 11 boards at Iona (1/8)... Credited with 15 points and five rebounds at Fairfield (2/6)... Posted 13 points and eight rebounds vs. Loyola (2/14)... Had 10 points and nine boards in MAAC Tourney game against Marist (3/7).

Before Canisius: Attended Schoolcraft Junior College in Livonia, Mich... Averaged 14 points and six rebounds a game on a team that went 35-1 and finished third at the National Junior College Tournament after being ranked first the majority of the year... Ranked 24th in the nation in field goal percentage, completing 65 percent of his attempts... Helped guide team to a MCCAA State Championship with a 34-game winning streak... Played at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas... Was an all-league performer while at John Glen High School in Michigan... Also participated in football and track and field where he was all-league in the shotput and the discus... Played one season of basketball at Mt. Zion.

Personal: The son of Doris Moton-Spruill and Gwynn Spruill, Yaku is a communications major at Canisius... Is the youngest of three children.
