• Enters his senior season with 211 career blocked shots, which ranks sixth in MAAC history.

2009-10
• Played in all 32, making a career-high 25 starts.
• One of two active players on the roster to have played in every career game (94 total).
• Averaged a career best 6.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
• Scored a career-high 18 points in the team's road win over Loyola (2/26).
• Was credited with four double-doubles (points and rebounds) to give him six in his career.
• Had his first double-double of the season (13 points/10 rebounds) at Manhattan (1/16).
• Led the team with his 6.7 rebounds per game, which ranked ninth in the MAAC.

• Matched a career-high with 12 rebounds against Manhattan (1/5).
• His 5.5 rebounds per game ranked second on the team and was tied for 17th in the MAAC.
• In that game against Manhattan, he was credited with 10 defensive rebounds, which was a new career high.
• Led the Griffs with 53 blocked shots, the second-straight year he's led the team in that category.

• Was good for 10 points and 11 rebounds at St. Bonaventure (12/1) and then posted 15 points and 10 boards at home against Loyola.
• Had a career-high 12 rebounds at home against Saint Peter’s (2/16).
• Became the first Canisius freshmen in school history to collect 80-plus blocked shots with his team-leading 84.
• Had at least one block in 28 of the Griffs’ 31 games.
• His 84 blocks is second-most for a single-season in school history.
• Was one of two freshmen to rank in the top-20 nationally in blocks per game average.

Before Canisius
• Named All-Greater Rochester as a senior at School of the Arts after posting 15 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocked shots a game.
• Earned fifth-team all-state and all-league honors after the 2007 campaign.
• A two-time sectional All-Tournament honoree.
• Tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks a game as a junior.
• Played three years of volleyball as well for the Silverhawks, where he averaged 14 kills and two blocks per game.

Personal
• Born Sept. 16, 1989, in Rochester, N.Y.
• The son of Tonya Vazquez.
• Earned his undergraduate degree in sociology from the College in May 2010.
• Has five siblings, Jake Simmons, Jayla Simmons, Deya Vazquez-Simmons, Justus Simmons and Jahnarie Simmons.
• Competed in the 2006 National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C.
