Tyler LaMonica is in his second year as an assistant athletic trainer at Canisius. Prior to joining the department's staff in a full-time role, he served as the department's graduate assistant from 2017-2019.
LaMonica works with the Canisius men's basketball and softball programs, where he is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to those programs' student-athletes.
Prior to coming to Canisius, the Jamestown, N.Y., native earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training and kinesiology from SUNY Brockport. While at Brockport, he served as a student athletic trainer where he worked with a majority of the school's 23 Division III programs. He has also worked directly with USA Hockey as an athletic training intern, where he provided services to the USA Select 16, 17 and sled hockey camps.
LaMonica, who earned his master's degree from Canisius in May 2019 in health and human performance with a concentration in strength and conditioning, is an active member of the NATA and is First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
