Shot 45.6 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range... Tallied seven points and four rebounds at Eastern Michigan... Netted 10 points at Loyola (1/14)... Scored 13 points at Fairfield (1/28)... Registered six points at Iona (1/30)... Collected eight points against Marist (2/7).

Before Canisius: Averaged 24.5 points, 11 rebounds and six assists a game as a senior at Orange High School... Named first-team all-district and all-state honorable mention... Also earned first-team all-district and all-state honorable mention accolades as a junior after earning league MVP honors... Lettered two years in basketball and two in track and field... Owns school record for high jump (6-8) along with Chagrin Valley Conference meet records for high jump (6-6 3/4) and long jump (21-11 3/4)... Earned first-team all-state honors in high jump as a junior after finishing third at the state meet with a jump of 6-6.

Personal: The son of Ray and Darla Byrd... Has one sister, Allison... Related to Andrew Pierce, a professional track and field athlete who competed at Ohio State.
