Jared Kennedy

Jared Kennedy is in his first season as the assistant director of athletic performance for the Golden Griffins. Kennedy assists in the day-to-day operations of the athletic performance department, supervises and educates student-athletes in workout and weight-lifting sessions, works with coaches to improve the development of the student-athletes and oversees the office’s internship program.
 
The former Canisius hurler the joins the athletic performance staff after four years as a member of the baseball program, helping the team to its 2018 MAAC Championship and 2019 MAAC regular-season title. The southpaw compiled a 3.82 ERA over 47 appearances for the Blue and Gold, striking out 81 batters in 92 career innings. His career opponent’s batting average of .235 ranks ninth-lowest in program history, while the 3.82 career ERA sits 12th all-time among Canisius pitchers. Kennedy was also a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection.
 
Off the mound, Kennedy interned under the director of athletic performance, Mike Guzda, in 2018. Additionally, Kennedy worked as an assistant to the Director of Prep Baseball Report Alberta in 2018, helping with the set-up of events and the building of online athlete profiles.
 
Kennedy served as an instructor at Canisius Baseball youth camps for five years, working with young pitchers, and was a mentor in the Stepping Stones Mentorship Program during high school.
 
The Calgary, Alberta native graduated from the College in May 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in health and wellness.
