Biography

2008: Took over the team’s closer role and led the Golden Griffins with seven saves... Went 7-3 overall with a 2.85 ERA in 22 appearances, covering 41 innings pitched... Held opponents to a batting average of .205... Struck out 41 batters in the 41 innings pitched... Was a part of the decision or earned a save in 17 of 22 appearances... Went a season-long four innings on two separate occasions... Struck out six batters in four innings at Cleveland State April 22... Only allowed two earned runs during final 12 appearances... Second in the MAAC in saves and first in games finished... Tied for sixth in career wins (11)... Ranks second in career saves (eight) and in career appearances (52)... ERA ranked seventh on single-season list, seven wins tied for third.... Seven saves set a program record as well as 22 appearances... Was a part of three combined shutouts

2007:
Went 4-3 on the mound after making 17 appearances and seven starts... One of two Griff pitchers to record winning records... Threw 59 innings, the third-most on the team, and struck out 29... Pitched six shutout innings and allowed two hits in a 7-0 win over St. Bonaventure in the Big 4 Classic title game... Posted a 1.51 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 29.2 innings in his last five starts... Posted a 3-0 record during the stretch

2006: Made 13 appearances and 12 starts on the mound... Threw 48.1 innings, the third-most on the team... Struck out 26 batters... Gave up two runs in 5.2 innings at Appalachian State March 12... Allowed three runs and five hits at Le Moyne April 29

Before Canisius: Selected to Team Canada Junior National Team training roster in 2004... Won Bronze Medal with the Manitoba Youth at the 2004 Canada Cup... Member of AA Neepawa Midgets that won the 2003 Western Canadian Championship... Won three straight Manitoba Provincial Championships with AA Neepawa Midgets from 2002-04... Named 2002 Manitoba Bantam Player of the Year... Also lettered in track, volleyball and basketball in high school

Personal: The son of Don and Debbie McGorman... Majoring in criminal justice... Has two older brothers, Derrick and Grant
