Alex Kubera is in his first season with the Golden Griffin baseball program as a volunteer assistant coach, working primarily with the pitching staff.
Prior to his time with the Griffs, Kubera played two seasons at NCAA Division II Le Moyne College. In his senior season, the Dolphins earned a trip to the East Regional of the 2018 NCAA Baseball Championships.
For his Le Moyne career, Kubera totaled 113.2 innings and 100 strikeouts, going 11-5 in 32 appearances.
The Dunkirk, N.Y., native started his collegiate career at Niagara County Community College. With NCCC, Kubera was named to the 2016 Region III All-Academic Team and was a member of the 2016 NJCAA Division III World Series team. Kubera finished his Thunderwolves career with an 8-2 record and ve saves in 23 appearances.
Kubera was a teammate of fellow baseball coaching staff member Max Schrantz at Dunkirk High School.
His mother, Donna (nee Geiger), is a former Canisius softball and volleyball player.
Kubera earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Le Moyne in Fall of 2018.
