Biography

Notes: Enters her senior season 73 digs shy of becoming the school's all-time digs leader. Stackhouse is one of two players in league history to be named the Defensive Player of the Year two times. Named the 2006-07 Canisius College Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

2006: Was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year by the league's coaches after she averaged a league best 5.4 digs per game in 115 contests. Also named All-MAAC first-team for the first time in her career. Set a new school record for digs in a single season with 621. Closed out the year ranked 36th in the nation in digs per game at 5.4 per game. Was named the MAAC's Defensive Player of the Week a total of four times. Was credited with double-digit digs in 28 of the team's 32 matches. Had 20-plus digs in 13 contests, highlighted by her season-high 31-dig efforts at Niagara and against Manhattan in the MAAC Tournament. Also had career-highs in assists (41) and service aces (34). For the second-straight season, she started the year as a Preseason All-MAAC choice. Also earned MAAC All-Academic honors as well.

2005: Played in 101 games and led the team with 411 digs, which ranks sixth-best all-time in digs for a single season by a Canisius player. Her 4.07 digs per contest last season ranked fifth-best in the MAAC. Had 15-plus digs in 18 of the team's 28 matches, with 20-or more digs coming in eight different matches. Had a season-high 37 digs in a five-game loss to Youngstown State. Posted 29 digs and three service aces at Marist. Ranked third on the team with 26 service aces. Earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors two different times. Was named Preseason All-MAAC by the league's coaches. Was a pitcher on the 2005 Canisius College softball team which claimed a MAAC Championship and a bid to the NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. Earned a varsity letter after posting a 5-1 record in the circle with a 1.45 earned run average.

2004: Became the second Canisius player in school history to be honored as the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Year after leading Canisius with 442 digs in her rookie campaign. Played in all 95 at the libero position. Tied a school record for digs in a four-game match with 30 in a win over at Colgate then matched that mark against MAAC rival Marist. Her 442 digs ranks fifth all-time in single season digs at Canisius. Ranked third in the league in digs per game with her 4.65 digs per game average.

Before Canisius: Won six varsity letters as a volleyball player at Warsaw High School. Was selected as the team's MVP four different times. Played the outside hitter position at Warsaw and was coached by her mother Amber. Won a total of 15 varsity letters, picking up four in basketball and five in softball. Was chosen the basketball team's MVP two times and the softball team's MVP three times.

Personal: The daughter of Ron and Amber Stackhouse, Jess is an elementary education major with a minor in mathematics. Has one younger brother, Dakota.
