Biography

Notes: Transferred to Canisius College after playing first three seasons at University of Utah... During four collegiate seasons, team played in the postseason all four years (two NCAA Tournaments, two WNIT appearances)... Finished senior season with 529 points, sixth highest single-season total in program history... Ranked seventh in program history in single-season 3-point field goal percentage (.389), sixth in free-throw percentage (.840), eighth in rebounds (283)

2008-09: Played and started all 33 games... Named ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American, one of 15 players at the Division I level to receive the honor... Earned Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Month Honorable Mention in December and January... Named all-MAAC First-Team... Led the team and ranked second in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in scoring (16.1) and rebounding (8.6)... Was third in the MAAC in free-throw percentage (.840) and second in 3-point field goal percentage (.389)... Earned MAAC all-Tournament Team honors after averaging 12.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in three MAAC Championship games... One of eight players in the country to record 21 points and 21 rebounds in a game during the 2008-09 season when she had 23 points and 21 rebounds against Saint Peter’s Jan. 30... Tied the Canisius Division I record with 21 rebounds... Recorded 11 double-doubles on the season, including five straight at the end of January... Two-time MAAC Player of the Week... Hit game-winning shot with 18.1 seconds remaining against Fairfield on Feb. 14... Led the team in scoring in 21 games and scored 20-plus points in nine games... Named to the MAAC all-Academic Team

Before Canisius: Earned three varsity letters as a member of the University of Utah women's basketball program. Averaged 7.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in 32 contests in 2006-07. Shot 41.1 percent (85-for-207) from the field, 36.1 percent (22-for-61) from 3-point range and 85.9 percent (61-for-71) from the charity stripe as Utah advanced to the second round of the 2007 WNIT. Played in 22 games during the 2005-06 campaign, making two starts. Averaged 1.8 points and one rebound per game as a sophomore. Scored a career-high 14 points against Arizona Nov. 26, 2005. Was a member of the Utah team which went to the Elite Eight. Played in all 30 games as a freshman. Averaged 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in her first collegiate season. Scored 12 points in a loss to eventual national runner-up Michigan State Nov. 26, 2004. Earned Most Valuable Player honors at Westdale High School as a senior and a sophomore. Name Hamilton city all-star four times from 2000-04. Led club team Hamilton Transway to provincial championships from 1995-2004. Won a national championship with Hamilton Transway in 2001-02 and 2002-03.

Personal: The daughter of Ian and Jackie Warner, Marie is majoring in marketing at Canisius... Also played rugby in high school.
