Biography

2005-06: For the third straight season, led the team in scoring with 32 points, which were the most by a Canisius player since 2001-02 and fifth most since program went to Division I... Finished tied for 13th in the league in points... Also led the team with 12 goals. 20 assists, 99 shots on goal, six power-play goals, two game-winning goals and one game-tying goal... Notched first shorthanded goal of his career Jan. 7 against American International... Recorded five-game point streak from Jan 21-Feb. 11, which tied his career best... Scored game-winning goals against Connecticut Jan. 28 and American International Feb. 24... Named to Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team for the third year

2004-05: Led the team in scoring for the second straight season with 22 points... Scored nine goals, including a team-high five power-play tallies... Was second on the team with 13 assists, 82 shots on goal and two game-winning goals... Posted three two-goal games, including two in back-to-back victories over American International Feb 4-5... Scored game-winning goals in 5-1 win over Connecticut Nov. 20 and 3-1 win over American International Feb 5... Ranked 13th in the league in power-play goals, 15th in game-winning goals, 24th in points and 27th in assists

2003-04: Led the team in scoring with 25 points... Scored 11 goals, including a team-high four power-play goals... Named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for Jan. 11 after tallying three assists in a weekend sweep of Quinnipiac... Recorded seven multi-point games... Scored first collegiate goal in his first game, a 3-3 draw with Holy Cross Oct. 12... Posted a +1 rating, one of only six Griffs to post a positive rating... Ranked 23rd in Atlantic Hockey in points and assists, fifth in freshman scoring and 16th in power-play goals... Ranked 14th nationally in points-per-game by rookies with 0.78

Before Canisius: Spent last season at the Berkshire Academy in Massachusetts and led the team in scoring with 52 points in 31 games, finishing as one of the top 10 scorers in New England and earning all-league honors... Led Williamsville North to the 2002 New York State Championship as a junior... Earned second team all-state honors and was named to the all-tournament team at the NYS Championships... Was also a member of the Buffalo Saints squad that finished third at the 2002 National Championships... Has been a member of the U-15, U-16, and U-17 Select Teams and was rated as one of the top 35 forwards in the United States each year... Won two gold medals at the Empire State Games and played in the Hockey Night in Boston All-Star Weekend
