Biography

Notes: Earned second-team All-MAAC honors for the second-straight year after she led the team in scoring and rebounding average. Has played in all 90 games since joining the program. Enters her senior season 125 points shy of becoming the 17th player in school history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.

2005-06: Played in all 29 games last season, making 28 starts. Led Canisius with her 12.7 points per game scoring average. Recorded a career-high 29 points in the team's home win against Fairfield Jan. 20, after shooting 10-for-17 from the field. Ranked seventh in the MAAC in scoring average with 12.7 points per game. Posted double digits in the scoring column in 21 times. Had double figures in the scoring column in seven of the team's last 10 games. Opened the year with double digit points in 10-straight games. Led the team with 190 total rebounds, and her 6.6 rebounds per game average ranked sixth-best in the MAAC. Had a season-high 12 rebounds at Niagara Feb. 26. Posted three double-doubles to give her 13 in her career, which is the most among players on the active roster. Shot 42.4 percent (144-for-340) from the field and 40.6 percent (13-for-32) from behind the three-point arc. Was credited with a career-high six assists in the Blue and Gold's home win over Niagara on ESPNU Jan. 17. Ranked fourth on the team in minutes played, averaging 24.6 minutes per contest. Started the season as a Preseason All-MAAC second-team choice.

2004-05: Named second team All-MAAC by the league's coaches. Played in all 31 games, making 27 starts. Averaged 11.4 points per game, posting a season-high 22 points in the team's home win over Iona Jan. 14. Scored in double-figures in 21 games as a sophomore. Ranked 14th in the MAAC in scoring average. Scored 10 points and dished out three assists in her first collegiate start against St. John's Nov. 20. Her 7.2 rebounds per game ranked first on the team and eighth in the conference. Had a career-high 14 boards in the team's win over Niagara Jan. 19. Pulled down an offensive rebound on a missed free-throw with 16 seconds left in the team's MAAC Tournament semifinal game win over Niagara to set-up the Griffs' game-winning possession. Posted double digits in the rebounding column in a team-high nine games. Led the team with seven double-doubles (points and rebounds), with her first one of the season coming in a loss to St. Bonaventure Nov. 21 (17 points/13 rebounds). Was good for 10 points and 11 rebounds in the team's win over Marist in the 2005 MAAC Championship game March 6. Ranked sixth in the MAAC in field goal percentage after shooting 46.1 percent (141-for-306) from the field. Played in a career-high 34 minutes at home against Siena Feb. 27. Averaged 23.4 minutes per game as a sophomore.

2003-04: Played in all 30 Canisius games as a freshman, averaging 15.5 minutes per game. Averaged 5.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in her first collegiate season. Picked up her first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Fairfield Jan. 9, at home. Scored 11 points after going 5-for-8 from the field in a win over Hofstra Nov. 30. Had a season-high two blocks win a win over Colgate Jan. 6, in her first collegiate home game. Ranked second on the team in field goal percentage after shooting 50.5 percent (54-for-107) from the field.

Before Canisius: Played five years of varsity basketball and won five letters as a forward at Eastview Secondary School. Was named the team's MVP and the school's Athlete of the Year as well. Also lettered in volleyball for five years where she was honored as the team's MVP. Won six medals at the Ontario Championships in track and field.

Personal: A marketing major at Canisius, Megan is the daughter of Gary and Marianne Lyte. Has two brothers, Bob and Mike. Enjoys playing volleyball, watching hockey and rollerblading in her free time. Her father played ice hockey at the University of Pennsylvania.
