Biography
Notes: Steady player... Smart with the basketball... The fourth Spitler to don the Blue and Gold and the fifth to play collegiate basketball... His father (Kevin), uncle (Mark), brother (Pat) all played at Canisius and Pat transferred to Stony Brook... Another brother, Chris, played at Holy Cross... Andrew transferred from John Carroll.
2003-04: Played in five games and averaged 1.6 minutes of action... Played one minute vs. St. Bonaventure, Saint Peter’s (1/3) and Florida International... Played three minutes against Marist (2/7) and Loyola (2/21)... Scored one point against Loyola; also collected an assist off a one-handed scoop pass for a Darnell Wilson alley-oop dunk that brought the KAC fans to their feet... The play was one of the highlights of the season.
2002-03: Saw action in eight games and averaged 3.6 minutes an outing... Posted three points, three steals and a rebound... Went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line... Biggest contribution came against Loyola (2/14) when he played eight minutes, registered a steal and a rebound and knocked down 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.
Before Canisius: Won two letters at St. Joseph’s in Buffalo... Attended John Carroll University from Sept. 2000-Dec. 2001.
Personal: The son of Kevin and Mary Elaine Spitler... Has three brothers, Chris, Pat and Tim... Parents have been known to travel to all of their sons’ road games... Majoring in secondary education.
Born: Oct. 14, 1981, in Buffalo.
