Golf Completes Play at MAAC Championship

Canisius freshman Cole Thompson shot a three-over 75 to move up four spots on the leaderboard and earn a tie for 39th on the final day of the 2026 MAAC Men's Golf Championship Thursday afternoon at Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Thompson's 75 was his lowest round in the 54-hole event, and he finished the tournament tied with Mount St. Mary's golfer Tyler Fourtney with a tournament score of 233. Junior Mikey Takacs was the Griffs' top individual performer, as he finished tied for 17th in the field after he posted a three-round score of 223, highlighted by his second-round 70.

As a team Canisius placed 11th in the field with a team score of 927. Iona won the 2026 MAAC Men's Golf Team Championship with a score of 868, which was four strokes better than second-place Sacred Heart.

Fairfield's Rasmus Ditzinger won the McLeod Trophy as the tournament's individual champion after he shot a two-under 70 in the final round to finish the event with a score of 212, which was four-under par. Ditzinger finished two strokes ahead of Siena golfers Gavin Crowley and KC Nickle.
