Golf Closes Out ABARTA Coca-Cola Invitational

The Canisius golf team posted a team-score of 313 in the second and final round of the 2026 ABARTA Coca-Cola Invitational, played Monday at Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pa. The Golden Griffins' finished 15th in the field with a 36-hole score of 634.

Freshman Cole Thompson shot a 76 on Monday and finished the tournament tied for 81st with his two-round score of 158. Fellow freshman Adam Cichowski carded a 77 in Monday's action and ended up as the Griffs' top individual performer with his two-round tally of 155, which tied him for 64th in the field. Junior Mikey Takacs tied for 81st as well.

The host Lafayette Leopards won the team title with their tournament score of 580, highlighted by a score of 278 on Monday. Lafayette finished one stroke in front of round one leader, Towson, and two strokes better than third-place Drexel. Drexel's John Stevenson posted a three-under 69 on Monday to win individual medalist honors with his tournament score of 140.

Canisius will return to the course April 18 when the Griffs take part in The ROAR-EE Invitational, hosted by Columbia, at Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, N.Y.
