Mahoney Named MAAC Men’s Rookie of the Week

Canisius freshman Jaxyn Mahoney has been named the Jersey Mike's MAAC Men's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, following his first-place finish at the SPIRE Institute Indoor Games last week.

The Griffs concluded its regular season at the SPIRE Institute Indoor Games, which saw Mahoney continue his strong indoor season with his second first-place finish in the 800-meter, with a time of 1:54.63. With the victory, Mahoney now has two wins and four top-three finishes during an impressive freshman indoor campaign.

Canisius will return to action this weekend as they wrap up the indoor season at the 2026 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in New York, N.Y.
