Men's Soccer Drops Road Contest at Fairfield

Pipeloore Olanrewaju netted two goals and notched an assist to lead Farfield to a 3-0 win over Canisius in Metro Conference men's soccer action Saturday at Lessing Field in Fairfield, Conn.

Asher Rosen accounted for the other tally for the Stags (9-2-3, 7-1-0 Metro). Evan Chomow got the start in goal for Fairfield while Shayan Rad played the remaining eight minutes to combine for the clean sheet.

Junior goalkeeper Adam Schantz made the start in net for Canisius (1-12-1, 0-7-1 Metro), making five saves.

Olanrewaju opened the scoring in the 12th minute as he capitalized on a Canisius turnover at the top of the box, collecting the ball and finding the top-right corner of the net to give the Stags an early lead.

Holding a 1-0 lead at the start of the second half, the Stags doubled their advantage just 20 seconds into the second half. Asher Rosen collected the rebound off an Olanrewaju shot and found the back of the net to extend Fairfield's lead to 2-0.

Fairfield struck again eight minutes later when Olanrewaju played a pass that was deflected to Rosen, who then found Olanrewaju open in the middle of the box. Olanrewaju beat Schantz with a shot to the top-left corner to give the Stags a 3-0 advantage.
