Women’s Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at Merrimack

Freshman keeper Alexa Turmel recorded five saves to pace Canisius in a 0-0 draw versus Merrimack in Metro Conference women's soccer action Saturday at Martone-Mejall Field in North Andover, Mass.

Turmel posted her fifth shutout of the season for the Golden Griffins (5-7-1, 2-5-1 Metro) with her five-save performance.

Addison Israel notched nine saves between the pipes for the Warriors (2-9-4, 0-6-3 Metro), matching her season high in that category.

In a contest that featured a combined total of 31 shot attempts, the best chance to get on the board came in the 41st minute when Merrimack was awarded a penalty kick.

Liv Campbell took the kick for the Warriors, but her shot found the crossbar and stayed out before being cleared out of danger.
