In the fifth and final set, Canisius led Manhattan 14-10 before the Jaspers ripped off six-straight points to seal the victory. Trailing 14-11, Power's 24th kill of the day cut the Griffs' lead to two at 14-12, and then the Jaspers took advantage of four-straight Canisius attack errors to win the set and the match.

Canisius took two of the first three sets to hold a 2-1 lead in the match. In the first set, Azoria hit .625 with six kills to help lead the Griffs to the 25-21 victory. After Manhattan evened the match at 1-1 in the second frame with a 25-21 set victory of its own.

Canisius bounced back, winning the third set 28-26. After trailing Manhattan 19-13, Kos took control of the frame collecting a pair of aces and a pair of kills to close out the set. The Blue and Gold collected four service aces in the third set, which proved to be the difference.

The fourth set saw 11 ties and four lead changes before the Jaspers responded to even the match at 2-2 and force a fifth set. Powers recorded seven kills in the fourth set and the Jaspers hit .375 as a team in that frame, the team's best hitting percentage in a frame on the day.
