Mahoney Named MAAC Men’s Rookie of the Week

Canisius freshman Jaxyn Mahoney has been named the Jersey Mike's MAAC Men's Rookie of the Week following his two top-three finishes at the SPIRE Institute Midwest Open last week.

The Griffs returned to Ohio for a second straight week to compete in the SPIRE Institute Midwest Open, which saw Mahoney place second in the men's 800-meter run, crossing the line in 1:56.00. Mahoney was also a part of the Griffs 4x400 team that placed third in the event, finishing in 3:33.07.

Canisius will return to action this weekend at the YSU Mid Major Invitational in Youngstown, OH, hosted by Youngstown State.
