Canisius Announces Retro “Vault” Merchandise Line in Partnership with Legends Global

For the first time, the Canisius University Athletic Department has partnered with Legends Global to offer retro merchandise. 

The full line-up of hoodies, quarter zips and shirts are available online at https://gogriffs.com/retro until Jan. 26.

The collection features logos and wordmarks from previous decades, highlighting the rich history of Canisius athletics as well as campus pride. Several items reference the 1956 Elite Eight men's basketball team, the former Canisius football program and the Beilein era men's basketball program. The apparel items also feature the timeless quality and comfort of the era.

"Learfield and their College Licensing Company showed us so many possibilities," Assistant Athletic Director for Revenue Generation and Fan Engagement Mike Kochczynski said. "We scoured countless photos, game programs, media guides and yearbooks to ensure authenticity. Our partners at Legends helped us take the idea from sketches, screenshots and dreams to turn it into reality. This is just a sampling of what we can do. We all hope this turns into a much bigger promotion over the next several years."

In addition to the online store, fans will also have the opportunity to purchase select limited-release items at the Canisius merchandise stand on game days.
