Jonke opened the scoring in the 16th minute, putting home a right-footed shot from the top of the box after the setup from Jaxon Ervin, giving Duquesne the early lead.

The Dukes added to their advantage before halftime as they recorded their second goal in the 40th minute off a scramble in the box, when a rebound fell perfectly to the feet of Badler, who slotted it home to double the Dukes' lead.

The final goal of the match came at the 69:19 mark of the contest as throw-in found its way to Jonke in the box, where he muscled past his defender and buried the shot into the Canisius goal to seal a 3-0 win for the Dukes.
