Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late Goal Dooms Women’s Soccer at Robert Morris

Madison Hurst scored the lone goal of the contest in the 84th minute and Emma Cameron stopped all four shots she faced to lift Robert Morris to a 1-0 victory over Canisius in collegiate women's soccer action Thursday at the North Athletic Complex in Moon
Township, Pa.

Hurst notched her second goal of the campaign in the final minutes to lift the host Colonials (2-1-0) to their second consecutive victory. Cameron made sure Hurst's tally held up as she posted her second shutout of the campaign.

Freshman keeper Chloe Tseros finished with four saves between the pipes for the Golden Griffins (0-4-0).

After a scoreless first half, the Griffs came close to opening the scoring in the 47th minute as junior Elizabeth Cavanaugh found senior Mia Iacona alone in the box with a cross, but Iacona's header was snagged by Cameron to keep the game scoreless.

The game remained deadlocked until the 83:10 mark of the contest as Hurst got RMU on the board when she headed home Ivy Chaskelson's cross from close range.

Junior Maggie Cregan had a chance to draw Canisius level moments after Hurst's tally as she created separation from her defender inside the box, but Cameron was to turn aside Cregan's attempt to preserve the Colonials one-goal lead and secure the victory.
