Cross Country Announces 2025 Schedule

Canisius head cross country/track coach Tyler Scheving announced the 2025 cross country schedule today.
 
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will begin the 2025 season at the annual Little Three Championships, which features the Golden Griffins racing long-time rivals Niagara and St. Bonaventure. This year's edition of the Little Three Championships will be hosted by St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y., on Sept. 6.  The Canisius men's team has won 18 consecutive Little Three Championship titles, while the Canisius women have finished first in 16 of the last 21 races.
 
Canisius is slated to participate in two longstanding races during the 2025 season, starting Sept. 19, when both teams run in the National Catholic Championships at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. On Oct. 3, Canisius will travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to take part in the 51st annual Paul Short Run, presented by ASICS.

On Oct. 18, the Griffs' will close out the regular season when the teams host the 13th annual Canisius Alumni Classic at Delaware Park. The 2025 MAAC Cross Country Championships will take place Nov. 1 at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y. Last season, both the men's and women's teams earned a fifth-place finish at the league's championship race.

The 2025 NCAA Northeast Regionals will be held Nov. 14 at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. The regional will be hosted by Boston College.
