DiCamillo Named Chair of MAAC SAAC Executive Board

Canisius rising senior Francesca DiCamillo has been named the chair of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Council Executive Board, league officials announced on Monday.

With two years of eligibility remaining, DiCamillo's position as MAAC SAAC Chair is a two-year appointment that will conclude at the end of the 2026-27 academic year.

A native of Buffalo, DiCamillo is a two-year member of the Golden Griffin rowing program. She has raced in several boats during her time at Canisius, earning a spot on the 2025 All-MAAC First Team after racing in the stroke seat of the Griffs' V8 boat at the 2025 MAAC Championship.

DiCamillo was a member of Canisus SAAC during the 2024-25 academic year and attended the MAAC SAAC in-person meetings during the Spring of 2025. A two-time Dean's List selection, she was named to the MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team in 2024-25. She is pursuing her bachelor's degree in sport management at Canisius.

Joining DiCamillo on the executive board is Quinnipiac track and field student-athlete Elise Barricelli as Vice Chair and Fairfield men's basketball student-athlete Luke Davidson, who has been tabbed as the Secretary/Division I SAAC Representative.

With 13 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 45th year of competition during the 2025-26 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan University, Marist University, Merrimack College, Mount St. Mary's University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Sacred Heart University, Saint Peter's University, and Siena College.
