Previdi and fellow junior Maggie Tifft tallied two goals and an assist each to pace the Golden Griffins (4-7, 1-2 MAAC), who scored their first conference win of the season with Wednesday's victory. Senior Hailey Rooney scored two goals and junior Meg Hiltz finished with a goal and an assist to give Canisius four players with multiple points. Senior Taylor McArthur caused a team-best three turnovers while sophomore Bridget Brown and junior Ava Pezzimenti recorded three ground balls each.

For Sacred Heart (5-7, 2-1 MAAC), Jamie Tanner and Maci Black both tallied two goals in their first conference loss of the season.

With Canisius leading 7-5 after three quarters of play, Sacred Heart's Shae Insinga and Taylor Farace scored back-to-back goals in a span of five minutes to tie the contest at 7-7.

Previdi answered for the Griffs, giving the Blue and Gold an 8-7 edge with 2:56 left in regulation. Off the ensuing draw, the Pioneers took advantage of a Canisius penalty to knot the game up with 2:17 left.

The score remained tied until the final seconds of regulation, when after a failed clear by Sacred Heart, junior Maggie Tifft dished a ball in transition to Previdi, who ripped a low shot under the stick of Sacred Heart goaltender Lisa Martin just before time expired to give the Griffs their first league win of the season.

With the score tied 2-2 at the 10:50 mark of the second quarter, Canisius jumped in the driver's seat with four consecutive goals over a more than eight-minute span to grab a 6-2 lead with less than three minutes to play before the break. Tifft struck twice during the stretch while freshman Leah Pfeiffer notched her first collegiate marker and freshman Katie Adams added a player-up tally.

Sacred Heart responded before the break, with Black posting a player-up goal with three seconds before the the break to kick off a 4-1 spurt for the Pioneers that would last into the late stages of the fourth quarter, setting the scene for the game's frantic final three minutes.
