Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Advances to MAAC Semis with Shutout Victory Versus Marist

Sophomore Azaria Fagan scored the lone goal of the contest and freshman keeper Chloe Tseros stopped all three shot she faced to lift No. 3 seed Canisius to a 1-0 victory over No. 6 seed Marist in first round action in the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship Sunday at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo.

Fagan struck for her team-leading fifth goal of the campaign in the 21st minute for the Golden Griffins (8-8-1), who advanced to the semifinal round with the win.

Maddy Catalanotti got the start in goal for the Red Foxes (6-8-5) and made three saves.

Fagan got the Griffs on the board with 20:22 elapsed in the contest as she headed home a cross from senior Skylar Cornell. Sophomore Meagan Joerger was credited with a secondary assist on the play.
Junior Jessica Whitaker nearly doubled the Canisius advantage in the opening minute of the second half, but her shot from close range found the right post and stayed out.

Tseros and the Canisius defense made Fagan's first-half tally stand as they limited the Red Foxes to just seven shots in the contest to secure the win and advance to the semifinal round for the second consecutive season.
