Men's Soccer Drops Match at Saint Peter's

Saint Peter's Tim Strele scored twice, including his conference-leading ninth goal of the season, to propel the Peacocks to a 2-0 win over Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's soccer action Saturday at Jaroschak Field in Jersey City, N.J.

Moritz Conrad got the start in goal for Saint Peter's (3-6-1, 1-3-0 MAAC), making three saves to post his third shutout of the season.

Graduate Dom Dominguez recorded five saves in goal for the Golden Griffins (3-6-1, 1-3-0 MAAC).

Saint Peter's opened the scoring in the 30th minute, as Davis Barnes beat a pair of defenders in the box and found an open Strele, who slotted it home to give the Peacocks the lead.

Strele's second goal of the match added to the Peacocks advantage early in the second half as a pass from Connall McErlain found Strele making a run through the box and slipping the ball past Dominguez to seal Saint Peter's 2-0 victory.
