Cross Country Places 22 Student-Athletes on MAAC All-Academic Team

A total of 22 members of the Canisius men's and women's cross-country teams were recognized as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its All-Academic Teams on Friday.
 
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
 
The women's team placed 10 runners on the MAAC All-Academic Team. Sacred Heart led the way with 25 selections, followed by the trio of Merrimack, Quinnipiac, and Rider, each having 12 selections.
 
The men's team had 12 Griffs on the MAAC All-Academic Team. Sacred Heart led all MAAC schools with 19 selections, followed by the trio of Iona, Marist, and Siena with 14 selections each.
 
The Griffs are set to compete in the 2025 MAAC Cross Country Championships Saturday in Montgomery, N.Y., at the Twin Ponds on the Farm. The women's 6k race begins at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at noon.
