• The Canisius softball program stays on the road for a doubleheader against Syracuse. This is a makeup date as the games were originally scheduled from April 3 but were postponed due to weather.

• This will be the 30th and 31st meetings between the Golden Griffins and the Orange. Syracuse leads the series 7-22. The Golden Griffins and Orange played a doubleheader last season which saw Syracuse take both games 3-1, 7-4. The Griffs last win against Syracuse came in 2022 4-3 when they split a doubleheader with the Orange.

• Senior Gianna Fazzolari sits tied for second in the conference with nine home runs on the season. Fazzolari is also tied for ninth in batting average with a .352 as well as third in RBI with 35.

• Junior Alyssa Cloutier leads the team with eight stolen bases in 10 attempts which puts her just outside the top 10 in the conference.

• Senior Megan Giese leads the conference with 126 strikeouts this season. Giese also sits second in innings pitched with 112.0, and tied for third with 11 wins, and fourth with a 2.31 ERA. Giese also recorded her second save of the season putting her in a tie for second in the conference.

• Senior Christie McGee-Ross is leading the team in triples with three which puts her tied for fourth in the conference, as well as leading the team with 19 runs scored.
 

Up Next

Following the weekend series the Griffs will head back home to face Manhattan, April 20-21 for the teams pride day games and Senior Day. First pitch for the Saturday doubleheader is scheduled for 2:30, while Sunday's first pitch is slated for noon.
