Eleko Named to All-MAAC Championship Team

Sophomore Sisi Eleko picked up another accolade, as she was named to the 2024 All-MAAC Championship Team, league officials announced Saturday evening at the conclusion of the 2024 Hercules Tires MAAC Women's Basketball Championship tournament.

Eleko is the first Golden Griffin since the combination of Shannon Conley, Anna Sweeny, A.J. Timbers and D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks in the 2019-20 campaign to get named to the team and the 12th player in program history to accomplish the feat. This is also the Montreal, Quebec's third yearly award this season as she was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team and was a unanimous First-Team All-MAAC selection.

In two games in this year's MAAC Tournament, Eleko averaged 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Her best performance came in the quarterfinal round against Manhattan, when she tied her career high with 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season.

Eleko finished the year averaging a double-double with 15.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, becoming the first Canisius player to accomplish the feat since Jênel Stevens in the 2002-03 season. She also concluded the season ranked second for total rebounds in a single-season and she set the Canisius program record for rebounds by a sophomore with 328.
