Bradley Rolls Past Men’s Basketball

Six Bradley players scored in double-figures, led by forward Darrius Hannah and his team-high 16 points, as the host Braves defeated Canisius 92-59 in non-conference men's basketball action at Carver Arena in Peoria, Ill., Saturday afternoon.

Bradley moved to 10-2 on the season with the victory, while Canisius fell to 0-13 with the loss.

Canisius junior Paul McMillan IV led all scorers with his game-high 26 points, and he also recorded three rebounds and three assists. Graduate student Jasman Sangha added 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while sophomore guard Anthony Benard added eight points, three boards and three assists to the losing cause.

Leading 10-7 just 5:25 into the contest, Bradley used a 9-0 run over the span of 2:04 to pull away from the Golden Griffins, with four of those points coming from Corey Thomas, who finished the day with 12 points for the Braves. Bradley's lead never dipped back below 10 points for the remainder of the game, as the home team ended the contest by shooting 57.7 percent from the field, 46.2 percent (12-for-6) from 3-point land and 83.3 percent (20-for-24) from the free-throw line.

Canisius, which shot 43.1 percent from the field and 31.8 percent (7-for-21) from 3-point land, made 8-of-9 free-throw tosses in the loss, with McMillan IV making all eight of his chances from the charity stripe. Bradley held a 34-20 advantage in the rebounding battle and outscored the Griffs 34-28 in points in the paint.
