A second half goal from Alicia Zamora helped lead Canisius to a 1-1 draw with Mount St. Mary's in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium in Emmitsburg, Md.
The Golden Griffins moved to 9-2-2 overall and 6-1-2 in conference play with the draw while the Mountaineers moved to 5-7-2 overall and 2-4-2 in MAAC action.
The Griffs controlled the game in the first half, posting 10 shots to Mount St. Mary's three, led by three shot from both Zamora and senior Emma Oliphant, but could not find a way past Mountaineers goaltender Adelaide Paredes.
Canisius got on the board first in the 57th minute with Zamora burying home a rebound off a free kick shot that hit the crossbar from the foot of sophomore Jessica Whitaker.Â
The Mountaineers tied the game in the 83rd minute with a header from Lillian Young that was able to make its way past Griffs senior goaltender Jordan Spencer. Erin Antone and Kayla Pennington were credited with the assists on the play.

• Wednesday's game served as the fifth contest between Canisius and Mount St. Mary's. Canisius still leads the series 2-1-2
• The Griffs out shot the Mountaineers, 28-5, led by a 5-2 shots on goal margin
• Zamora and Oliphant both registered six shots apiece
• The 28 shots are the most by the Golden Griffins this season
• Senior Sophia Konstantinou extended her consecutive minute streak to 2,070 straight minutes played

The Griffs return home to face Sacred Heart Saturday afternoon for the team's senior day at the Demske Sports Complex. Game time is set for noon, with the senior day ceremony starting at 11:45 a.m.
