Perreault’s Win Highlights Day One of MAAC Championships for Outdoor Track

Senior Andrew Perreault won the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase to pace Canisius on day one of the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at the Morgan Track on the campus of Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md.

Perreault became the first Canisius runner in program history to win the men's steeplechase at the MAAC Championships after he crossed the finish line with a time of 9:16.17, more than two seconds ahead of second place Peter Fogarty from Marist (9:18.20).

Junior Katie Gawronski established a school record in the women's 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:06.13 in the preliminaries to qualify for Sunday's final.

Junior Maura Jordan qualified for Sunday's final in the women's 400-meter dash as she won her preliminary heat with a time of 57.98. Jordan also posted a ninth-place finish in the preliminaries of the women's 200-meter dash, clocking in at 25.89 to just miss out on qualifying for Sunday's final.

Senior Tom Appenheimer took fourth place in the men's 10,000-meter race, crossing the finish line with a time of 31:35.59.
