Game 1 Recap
Junior Megan Giese hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the top of the seventh inning to cap a six-run frame as the Griffs rallied from five-run deficit to defeat St. Bonaventure, 9-8.

Trailing 8-3 heading into its final at-bat, sophomore Rosie Gomez got the Canisius comeback started with an infield single to plate the first run of the frame before freshman Rylee Alfaro made it a three-run game with an RBI single up the middle.

The Griffs continued to threaten as Alfaro's single loaded the bases for Giese, who sent a 1-0 offering over the left-field fence for the grand slam to put Canisius in front, 9-8.

Giese would enter the game in the circle for the bottom of the seventh and proceed to close the door on the Bonnies, striking out three of the four batters she faced to secure the one-run victory.

Earlier in the contest, Canisius jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first, only to see
SBU tie the game in the home half of the opening frame.

The Bonnies took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the second, plating four runs on four hits and two walks to build a 6-2 advantage.

SBU expanded its cushion to 7-2 in the bottom of the fourth before graduate student Nicole Rivait notched her second RBI of the contest in the top of the fifth, recording a one-out double to right center that plated junior Christie McGee-Ross.

Bobbey restored the Bonnies five-run advantage in the bottom half of the fifth with a two-out double to center field, setting the stage for the Griffs' seventh-inning comeback.

Giese recorded the grand slam in her lone plate appearance while Rivalt and freshman Rylee Alfaro finished with two hits and two RBI apiece. Gomez was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Sophomore Toria Kover (3-5) was credited with the win in the circle for Canisius, pitching four innings of relief and allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits. Giese earned her first save of the season, retiring three of the four batters she faced in the bottom of the seventh.

Kennedy Habrel (1-8) went 2-for-4 with two RBI to highlight a Bonnies lineup that recorded 13 hits in the opener. Elizabeth Lis was saddled with the loss for SBU, allowing the grand slam to Giese, one of three batters she faced during her appearance.

Game 2 Recap
Canisius jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the nightcap as sophomore Saige Alfaro and McGee-Ross opened the game with a single and a double, respectively, before Alfaro scored on a wild pitch and McGee-Ross was brought home by an RBI single from Gomez.

The score remained the same until the bottom of the fourth inning, when SBU erupted for five runs to grab a 5-2 lead. The Bonnies strung together seven base hits during the frame, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Olivia Whitecar to plate the final two runs of the frame.

McGee-Ross trimmed the Canisius deficit to two in the top of the fifth, ripping a two-out single up the middle that brought home sophomore Alyssa Cloutier from second after Cloutier reached base by way of an infield single earlier in the frame.

Giese knotted the score in the top of the sixth with a two-out single to left field that plated both sophomore Emily Ilano and Gomez to make it a 5-5 contest.
