Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw Versus Dartmouth

Graduate keeper William Howard made two saves to pace Canisius in a 0-0 draw versus Dartmouth in collegiate men's soccer action Monday afternoon at the Demske Sports Complex.

The Golden Griffins (1-2-1) were out-shot by the Big Green (1-0-1) 9-4, but held the advantage in shots on target by a 3-2 margin.

The best chance for either team to score came in the 88th minute when freshman Daniel Longo found himself with space 30 yards out, blasting one towards the top right part of the net. Dartmouth keeper Costi Christodoulou sprawled out, deflecting the shot out of bounds and keeping the match deadlocked at zero.

Game Notes

• Seniors Alessandro Fabiano, Noah Hodson and Federico Mereto all made their first starts of the campaign with Hodson appearing in his first contest.
• Longo and fellow first year Michael Switala have both registered at least one shot attempt in all four matches.
• Howard was named the Tri-Defensive Player of the Week by the MAAC for his seven-save effort Friday versus Stonehill.

Up Next

• Canisius concludes its homestand with a contest Friday against Little Three rival St. Bonaventure. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. from the Demske Sports Complex.
